Bills’ Andre Smith suspended six games for PEDs

The National Football League announced Wednesday that Buffalo Bills linebacker and special-teamer Andre Smith has received a six-game suspension for violating the league’s PED policy.

Smith was acquired before the 2020 season in a trade with the Carolina Panthers, was waived at the end of training camp, but re-signed to the club’s practice squad. He then spent time on the Bills’ practice squad and active roster that year. He signed a two-year contract extension before last season.

After being inactive the first two weeks of 2021, he played the remaining 16 games but never saw a single snap on defense.

Last season, Smith played 15 games for Buffalo, notching ten tackles and a fumble recovery. Over the last two seasons, Smith has 19 tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in 27 games with the Bills.
