When will the payments start?
The Direct Assistance Program in Johnson County, Iowa will provide checks worth $1,400 to eligible applicants. The application deadline has already closed, but not all applicants will receive a check.
The checks will be distributed early in July. Before the checks are sent out, there will be a two-week period to correct any mistakes that might be on the application and could prevent you from getting the money.
There is a possibility that some of the applicants are not eligible. That might result in more funds than applicants. If that is the case, the remaining funds will be sent back to Iowa City and Coralville.
