The New York Mets blanked the Washington Nationals, 5-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field and completed the three-game sweep. New York also pushed its win streak to six games.
Tomás Nido provided most of the Mets’ offense as he collected four hits and drove in three of the five runs. Franciso Lindor extended his RBI streak to 10 games with a sacrifice fly, while the other run scored on a fielding error. J.D. Davis also notched a multi-hit game.
Carlos Carrasco started on the mound for New York and tossed five shutout innings. Seth Lugo (2.0 IP), Adam Ottavino (1.0 IP), and Edwin Díaz (1.0 IP) each had scoreless outings in relief.
The Mets secured their first undefeated homestand of at least six games since they went 10-0 on a homestand in April 2015.
New York will head to the West Coast to begin a four-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. The first pitch is slated for 10:10 p.m.
