A Wolcott woman was arrested following a traffic stop in Butler Sunday night.
According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Margaret Tompkins, 45, of Wolcott for driving while intoxicated.
It is reported that Tompkins was coming from a friends gathering when she was observed driving at a speed of 90 mph. Upon stopping the vehicle, deputies determined that Tompkins was intoxicated through standardized field sobriety testing. She was additionally cited for speed in zone over 55 mph, insufficient turn signal, and driving while having more than .08% BAC.
Tompkins will return to the Butler Town Court at a later date to answer charges.
