Multiple charges against Palmyra man after traffic stop

A Palmyra man was arrested after a traffic stop in Sodus.

According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Russell J. Monte, 30, of Palmyra for driving while intoxicated.

Monte was initially stopped for having a suspended registration. While interviewing Monte, deputies observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. Upon failing field sobriety testing, Monte was transported to a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Substation where a .10% BAC was secured. He was additionally charged with having no insurance, an un-inspected motor vehicle, and a suspended registration.

Monte will appear in Town of Sodus Court at a later date to answer charges.
