Today the major weather headline will be the heat and humidity. By the time Wednesday comes around, though, the big story will be the threat of severe weather.

That’s the major weather headline this week as the hot and humid conditions that built into the region over the last 48 hours are met with a cold front.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed all of Western New York and Central New York in ‘Slight’ risk for severe weather. While this isn’t any immediate cause for concern – it does mean there’s a risk for strong to severe thunderstorms as that cold front approaches.
Hail, lightning, and damaging winds are the biggest concerns from these storms at this point.
In the meantime, high temperatures will be between 85-90 for most in the Finger Lakes and Central New York. Overnight lows will settle in the 60s.
Once the front passes temperatures will moderate and things will quiet down heading into the first official weekend of June.
