Stimulus: 3 deadlines for gas cards, child tax credits, and aid
How do I apply?
In New Mexico, the governor signed a bill that will grant relief to residents that apply before 5pm on May 31. The relief will only be granted to a certain amount of households. The application opened on May 2, but is closing today.
However, as a non-filer there are criteria you need to meet:
- Households of married couples or single individuals with one or more dependents can receive economic relief payments of $1,000
- Households of single individuals without dependents can receive $500
- Low-income seniors and some individuals with disabilities
$20 million has been allocated to non-filers for economic relief, but becomes available to applicants based on a first-come, first-served basis.
You can apply here.
In the case that non-filer funding does run out, they will still have the option to fille a New Mexico Personal Income Tax return to get a rebate as late as May 31, 2023.
