Yankees roll past Rays in series opener

The New York Yankees rolled past the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-2, in the series opener on Thursday night at Tropicana Field.

Nestor Cortes made the start for New York and allowed one run over eight innings. Wandy Peralta entered the game in the ninth and surrendered a run.


Aaron Judge drove in a pair of runs while Anthony Rizzo and Miguel Andújar had an RBI. The other three runs came on two errors and a wild pitch.

Tampa Bay plated both of their runs in the ninth.

The Yankees will send Jameson Taillon to the mound on Friday night. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
