Police arrested a Penn Yan resident after breaking into a neighboring apartment.
According to a news release, the Penn Yan Police Department charged Dale R. Evans, 49, of Penn Yan with criminal trespass.
The incident occurred after Eaves forced his way into an occupied neighboring building by breaking the door. Eaves allegedly used methamphetamine and was attempting to get away from an intruder in his apartment. It was later determined that there was no intruder and he was admittedly hallucinating.
Eaves will appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
