SECTIONAL BOYS LACROSSE: Geneva takes down Newark in Class C Quarterfinals

Sectionals have begun for High School Spring Sports. FL1 Radio was in Geneva tonight for the Class C Quarterfinals between #4 seed Geneva and #5 seed Newark. . Catch the full broadcast replay here.

Geneva started the scoring quickly with a marker from Daniel Wright less than a minute into the game. They would control the first quarter, taking an 8-1 lead after 12 minutes. The lone Newark goal came off the stick of Preston Steve.

The Panthers would continue to control play in the second half, extending their lead to 14-2 at halftime. The second half saw a running clock with Geneva closing out the game with a 17-5 victory.

Geneva moves on to play top seed Pal-Mac in the Semifinals on Friday night in Canandaigua. The opening draw is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Newark ends its season with a 9-8 record.

FL1 Radio will be back on the airwaves tomorrow with Class C Girls Lacrosse. The #2 seed Geneva battles the #3 seed Newark-Midlakes at Tom Coughlin Stadium in Waterloo. Ted Baker and Paul Russo will have all the action live starting at 6:50, with the opening draw scheduled for 7:00.
