Jake Mangum is now one step away from making it to the big leagues.
New York Mets prospect Jake Mangum was promoted from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old switch-hitting outfielder hit .283 with nine extra-base hits in 31 games in Double-A but has been red-hot in May, hitting .367 with three doubles, two triples, and a .433 on-base percentage in 16 games played this month.
Mangum came into the 2022 season as the Mets’ No. 22 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
The Syracuse Mets now have four top 30 prospects in their outfield as Khalil Lee has also rejoined the team from Low-A St. Lucie.
Mangum is in Tuesday’s starting lineup against the Rochester Red Wings at NBT Bank Stadium, leading off and playing centerfield.
