The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the tractor-trailer crash that happened on Route 96 in the area of Bromka Road on May 20.
Around 10:19 a.m. deputies responded to that area for a single tractor-trailer accident. Deputies said in a news release that the operator of the truck was 33-year-old Tauvis Travis, of Alabama.
He was traveling north on Route 96 when the trailer portion had an equipment malfunction. The rear axel of the vehicle detached from the trailer, causing it to overturn.
Tauvis was safely extracted from the tractor trailer and reported no injuries from the crash. He was checked over by North Seneca Ambulance and refused further medical attention.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the New York State Police, Ovid Fire Department, Romulus Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance.
A portion of Route 96 from Bromka Road to Yerkes Road was shut down for several hours while Route 89 Auto removed the tractor trailer from the ditch.
