Aaron Judge launched two home runs but it wasn’t enough as the New York Yankees fell to the Baltimore Orioles, 6-4, in the series opener on Monday night at Yankee Stadium.
New York has dropped three straight and four of five.
Gerrit Cole made the start for the Yankees and allowed five runs on seven hits over eight innings while striking out 11.
Judge crushed a solo home run into the visitor’s bullpen to put the Yankees up 1-0 in the first. Jose Trevino made it 2-0 in the second with an RBI single to center. Judge tied the game at four in the fifth with a two-run shot over the left-field wall.
Baltimore plated four of their six runs in the third.
New York had just five total hits.
The Yankees will try to snap their three-game skid on Tuesday night when they send Jordan Montgomery to the mound. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
