The Rochester Red Wings fell to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field.
Rochester dropped four of six in the series.
Cade Cavalli made the start for the Red Wings and tossed five innings of one-run ball while walking three and striking out four. Reed Garrett struggled in relief as he allowed three runs and recorded just one out.
The Red Wings scored the first run of the game in the third inning. Cole Freeman grounded into a double play, but Donovan Casey scored to make it 1-0.
Lehigh Valley tied the game in the fifth on Scott Kingery’s sacrifice fly.
The IronPigs scored three in the top half of the eighth to take a 4-1 lead. Darick Hall and Yairo Munoz had run-scoring singles and the other run came on a wild pitch. Rochester’s second run came in the bottom of the inning on Jake Noll’s RBI groundout.
Noll had two of the team’s six hits.
Rochester will begin a six-game series with the Syracuse Mets on Tuesday at NBT Bank Stadium.
