The Village of Newark, the Greater Newark Chamber of Commerce, and the Wayne County Farm Bureau are joining forces to host Taste of Wayne County for the fifth year. This exciting outdoor event will be held on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM along VanBuren Street from Main Street to East Avenue, and in T. Spencer Knight Canal Park.
Taste of Wayne County was created to showcase vendors, restaurants, and other food and drink related businesses from Wayne County through samples of their “signature” dishes, food products, or beverages. This community event has been attended by upwards of 1200 people in past years. After a hiatus in 2020, the event returned with attendance limited to 600 in 2021; the 2022 event is expected to return to full capacity. Entertainment will include live music from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Pre-sale tickets are available online at tasteofwaynecounty.org and are $10 for 15 samples. Tickets will be offered at the gate this year for $1 per sample with a minimum $5 purchase. Event attendees will receive an event-branded utensil and glass to be use for sampling. Glasses are sponsored by Wayne County Tourism.
