Livingston County names new Director of Community Mental Health Services

The Livingston County Board of Supervisors recently named Lynette Greene as the new Director of Community Mental Health Services, effective May 8, 2022.

Greene earned her bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and holds a Master of Social Work degree from Syracuse University. She brings with her 30 years of experience in a variety of settings, including child welfare, educational institutions and clinics. She spent the last 12 years as the Director of Mental Health at UR|Noyes, where her focus was on improving access to care.

“As the new Director of Community Mental Health Services, my initial goal is to engage community stakeholders – including law enforcement, schools, social services and the legal community – in a process to review the strengths of the current system of care and gaps in service,” said Greene. “Based on the results of this effort, our office will begin to develop effective, efficient solutions as we continue to navigate the behavioral health crisis facing our nation.”

County Administrator Ian M. Coyle stated, “We are so happy to welcome Lynette to the Livingston County team. I am eager to see her office’s staff and services flourish with her leadership.”

Greene and her husband, Todd, are the proud parents of a 17-year-old daughter who is graduating from high school this year and plans to attend Clarkson University. In her free time, Greene enjoys reading, cooking and playing golf.
