The New York Mets made a roster move following Game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The team optioned reliever Jake Reed and recalled infielder Gosuke Katoh from Triple-A Syracuse.
Reed tossed two shutout innings in the Mets’ Game 1 victory.
New York claimed Katoh off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this month. He is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 but could make an appearance off the bench.
