The Cornell Big Red men’s lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals with a win over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field.
After falling behind 4-0 early, Cornell dominated Ohio State en route to a 15-8 victory.
CJ Kirst led the Big Red with a game-high seven goals while John Piatelli netted four and finished with five points. Hugh Kelleher and Michael Long also notched three-point games. Goalkeeper Chayse Ierlan made 13 saves.
The Buckeyes were led by Jack Myers, who registered three points on a pair of goals and an assist. Colby Smith also found the back of the net twice while Skylar Wahlund made 14 saves.
Cornell will face the winner of Georgetown and Delaware next Sunday.
