Syracuse Mets blank SWB RailRiders, 4-0

The Syracuse Mets blanked the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, 4-0, on Thursday night at PNC Field.

Adonis Medina got the start for Syracuse and tossed three shutout innings. Connor Grey followed that with 5.1 shutout innings in relief and Yoan Lopez recorded the final out of the game.

The Mets broke a scoreless tie in the fifth when Carlos Cortes grounded into a double play but a run scored to make it 1-0.

Nick Plummer extended the lead in the sixth with an RBI double to right.


Quinn Brodey dunked one into shallow right in the seventh for an RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0.

Mark Vientos capped off the scoring in the game with a solo shot to left in the eighth.

The two teams will continue the six-game series on Friday night at 6:35 p.m.
