One of the newer bills signed into law in Florida has created 10 tax free holidays for residents to save on specific items.
These items include school supplies and gas.
$1.2 billion dollars have been allocated to help those in Florida.
This is happening to help offset the costs of inflation.
What items can Florida residents save cash on?
For the month of October, there will be no tax on gas.
That’s a savings of almost $0.25 per gallon.
If parents have children ages 5 and under, they can get tax free clothing from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
Social Security: Other ways to save cash between benefit payments
Children’s books are tax free from May 14, 2022 through Aug. 14, 2022.
A two week tax free event will be happening from July 25 through Aug. 14 that takes tax off certain items.
This includes clothing, shoes, and backpacks under $100, school supplies under $50 and computers and computer accessories worth $1,500 and under.
May 28- June 10 will be tax free on disaster preparedness items like flashlights, radios, tarps, coolers, batteries, and generators all under a certain price.
July 1 through July 7 will offer no taxes on things like tickets to movies, museums, and performances. State parks and fitness centers are included.
There will be no taxes on tools for skilled workers from Sept. 3-9 for things like power tools, work boots, safety gear, and other equipment.
