State lawmakers are pushing for a bill to bring handicap-accessible playground equipment to parks across New York State.
State Assemblymember Josh Jensen (R) and state Senator Mario Mattera (R) will host a press conference on Monday at the State Capitol to introduce the “Everyone Can Play” bill, according to News10 NBC. The bill would establish a state grant program to aid local municipalities in installing handicap-accessible playground equipment at area parks.
Lawmakers will be joined by Santii Patel, a 9-year-old girl who sold hot chocolate to raise money to build playgrounds for disabled children.
The press conference will be held on Monday, May 9 at 11 a.m and will be livestreamed on the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee’s Facebook page.
