The New York Mets made some roster moves before Sunday’s doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The team selected Stephen Nogosek’s contract from Triple-A Syracuse and added the reliever to the active roster. He took the roster spot of Adonis Medina, who was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, though the reliever will serve as the club’s 27th man for the doubleheader.
Nogosek has posted a 1.69 ERA over 10.2 innings for Triple-A Syracuse this season.
Medina has thrown 3.2 innings for New York this season and has yet to allow a run or issue a walk.
The Mets also released second baseman and designated hitter Robinson Canó, who was designated for assignment last week.
