Police say a Palmyra man was arrested following a traffic stop in the Town of Macedon.
According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew J. Benza, 36, of Palmyra for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The charges stem from a traffic stop in October where it is alleged that Benza, who was a passenger in the vehicle, had been found to be in possession of multiple baggies of a controlled substance. The bags were secured and submitted to the New York State Police crime lab for testing. A lab analysis confirmed the controlled substance to be cocaine. Benza was located at his residence and taken into custody.
Benza is due to appear in the Town of Macedon Court at a later date.
