Thompson on ‘150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare’ list

For the fifth time, UR Medicine Thompson Health is on the “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” list released by Becker’s Hospital Review.

According to the publication featuring business and legal information for healthcare industry leaders, the 2022 list “highlights hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement and professional growth.”

This year, there are a total of eight New York hospitals, health systems and medical groups included. Five are downstate, with the other two upstate hospitals being the University of Rochester Medical Center and Highland Hospital in Rochester, also an affiliate of UR Medicine. The list includes organizations both big and small, with some of the better-known hospitals including the Cleveland Clinic, the Mayo Clinic and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“Especially in this highly competitive job market, inclusion on this list is very exciting to Thompson Health because it lets people in our region know we work hard to empower our associates, helping them thrive both professionally and personally,” said Thompson Health Vice President of Associate Services and Wellness Jennifer DeVault.

According to Becker’s, the annual list of “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” is based on nominations and editorial research. Organizations do not pay and cannot pay for inclusion on the list.

“The organizations featured on this list offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company; they encourage professional development and promote leadership from within. Many honorees on the list offer substantial wellness and personal benefits to ensure employees strike a positive work/life balance,” Becker’s stated in an article announcing this year’s list, adding, “Becker’s also took community impact into account, recognizing organizations with a mission of volunteerism and giving back.”
