Some couples will find themselves eligible for stimulus payments of $850 each, or $1,700 together this summer.
The stimulus package is part of Maine Governor Janet Mills’ plan to bolster the residents following COVID-19.
This is part of a $1.2 billion dollar plan.
850,000 residents can benefit from this plan that was signed into law on April 20th.
Both Democrats and Republicans supported the passing of the bill.
Who can see the stimulus checks?
There is an income requirement when it comes to who can see the stimulus payments.
Individuals cannot make over $100,000 each.
Head of household filers may not make over $150,000.
Stimulus: $1,700 checks for some couples this summer
Married joint filers can’t make more than $200,000.
In addition, high school students can see free community college tuition if they qualify and graduated between 2020 and 2023.
There will also be a property tax relief bill for homeowners and renters
