Drink Like a Girl Bridgefest benefits all-girls Rochester public school

The Pont de Rennes Bridge in Rochester’s High Falls neighborhood is being shut down today for the first-ever Drink Like a Girl Bridgefest.

Organizer Kelly Guilfoyle says she’s not sure anyone has taken over a bridge before, and she tells us about some of today’s events.

Guilfoyle started Drink Like a Girl to promote women in the brewing industry and organizations that benefit women. A portion of the Bridgefest proceeds will go to the Young Women’s College Prep Foundation, Rochester’s only all-girls public school, serving nearly 400 girls in grades 7-12. A majority of the students live in the city of Rochester, come from economically disadvantaged families and will be the first in their families to go to or graduate from college.
