Wayne County Office of Economic Development and Planning is offering opportunities to jumpstart new local business development.
The local KickStart initiative enters its fourth year with its regular adult “pitch” competition and the addition of a new student “pitch” competition. The last three annual adult Pitch Competitions brought a total of almost $100,000 to three fledgling local businesses, according to Wayne Times.
The new student Pitch Competition is available for students in grades 9-12 during the 2022-23 school year to participate. The competition requires a business plan summary, outline of financial projects, and a recorded video business pitch. Students are allowed to work in groups and receive help from teachers and mentors. Winners will receive small cash prizes.
For more information on both competitions, call the office at (315) 946-5919 or email [email protected].
