Tompkins welcomes new Vice President of Commercial Lending

Tompkins Community Bank has hired Lawrence Harris as vice president, commercial banking relationship manager.

Harris brings 35 years of experience to his new role and will be responsible for all facets of banking relationship management including real estate and construction financing, providing working capital, equipment financing, and structuring financial transactions to support mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Harris will provide guidance on depository and cash management services, and client relationships with affiliate investment and insurance partners.


Harris received a Bachelor of Science in Management Science from Binghamton University, and was an honors graduate from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University. Harris volunteers his time with community organizations focused on helping and mentoring youth in the Binghamton and Syracuse communities. He serves as Independent Director of Broome Tobacco Asset Securitization Corporation and is a member of NYBDC Regional Loan and Advisory Committee.

On Harris joining the financial organization, Tompkins’ Senior Vice President Syracuse Market Leader Brian Bissacio shared, “We are pleased for Larry to assume his new role with Tompkins.
