Police say a Hornell woman was arrested following a physical altercation.
According to a news release, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nessadena Ortiz, 40, of Cornell for assault, menacing, possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.
It is alleged that Ortiz caused physical injury to a member of her household while using a weapon. It is further alleged that this happened in the presence of a child under the age of 17.
Ortiz will respond to the charges at a later date.
