The latest proposal is good news to some parents, because it’s trying to deliver stimulus checks for those who received child tax credits.
The proposal is under Senator Mitt Romney and called the Family Security Act.
The Act would pay parents $350 per child under age 6 and $250 per child ages 7-17.
The most a family could see per month is $1,250.
$850 stimulus checks will go to thousands of Americans
The goal is to help combat child poverty.
Single filers incomes cannot exceed $200,000 and joint filers cannot exceed $400,000.
What happens to the stimulus check if you make more than the income limits?
For every $1,000 more than the income threshold a filer makes, $50 is deducted from the stimulus payment.
Gas: $150 gas cards could soon be available
In addition, families must be working to get the stimulus check.
This means working, volunteering, or training for at least 80 hours per month.
The working portion of the bill is what is currently being negotiated.
