Town of Geneva will soon accept signups to use new box turf field

Signups are set to begin soon for people who want to use the new box turf field behind the Geneva Town Hall.

Geneva Town Supervisor Mark Venuti says the town is putting the finishing touches on the signup process and the rules for using the park.

Town Board member Jeff Dunham, who also coaches lacrosse and soccer at Geneva High School, has been one of the driving forces behind bringing the field to town. The town paid about 40% of the $100,000 cost, with the rest coming from donations and the sale of advertising along the boards. The town share comes from a parks and recreation fee charged to new residential developments.

The town’s bike park, which is also located behind the town hall, is open for its second season after being completed in the fall of 2020.
