Police report the arrest of a 50-year-old Penn Yan woman on several charges after making a string of illegitimate calls for emergency services in Yates County.
Shantel Champlin, 50, made several calls to Yates County for services. She was warned by police to stop calling if there was no emergency.
However, Champlin continued calling dispatch.
She was arrested at her residence, but resisted while being taken into custody.
Champlin was charged with falsely reporting an incident, aggravated harassment, and resisting arrest.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
