The New York Mets made a roster move prior to Game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the San Francisco Giants.
The team activated outfielder Brandon Nimmo from MLB’s COVID-19 injured list and optioned outfielder Nick Plummer to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the 28-man roster.
Nimmo and his teammate Mark Canha both tested positive for COVID-19 this past Friday. Canha remains on the COVID-19 injured list.
Despite being activated, Nimmo is not in the starting lineup for the first game of the doubleheader.
Plummer appeared in just two games for New York, going hitless in his only at-bat.
