The deadline for residents in Illinois and Tennessee has been extended to May 16, 2022.
This is for individual and business tax returns.
If you owe taxes you have until this date to make payments.

On Dec. 10th and 11th tornadoes damaged properties throughout the state of Illinois and Tennessee.
Counties impacted in Illinois include Cass, Menard, Shelby, Moultrie and Coles counties.
Tennessee counties most impacted include Cheatham, Decatur, Dickson, Dyer, Gibson, Lake, Obion, Stewart and Weakley counties.
If your address with the IRS is in these areas, you were automatically given an extension and do not need to request one.
In Maine and Massachusetts the deadline is today, April 19, 2022.
This is because yesterday was Patriot’s Day in those states.
