Police say a youth offender was arrested after an investigation into an incident that happened on March 26 involving five children.
It’s alleged that the youth offender, who was not identified by police, drove up to the children walking on Clinton Street in the village of Penn Yan, and began shooting gel projectiles at them.
The children’s ages ranged from 14- to 15-years-old. Four of the children were struck by the projectiles.
The youth offender then exited the vehicle and began chasing the children.
Police say the youth offender was charged with several counts of endangering the welfare of a child, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
They were released with a juvenile appearance ticket to answer the charges at a later date in family court.
