The proposal is Bill SB 1341.
The known name is the California Success, Opportunity, and Academic Resilience, or SOAR.
The California Senate Education Committee has cleared the bill.
UBI: Who qualifies in California?
If this bill passes, it would begin immediately after graduation and continue until students went to college, vocational training, or started working.
3.8% of the student population in California are homeless.
Data shows that for the 2020-21 year, 183,000 children were homeless and 15,000 were seniors in the state of California.
