Bloomfield man accused of stalking, yelling at churchgoers in Ontario County after being banned

Deputies report the arrest of a Bloomfield man following an investigation at a local church.

According to a news release, Thane Jenkins, 49, of Bloomfield was arrested in front of the New Hope Fellowship Church on State Route 5&20 in East Bloomfield for stalking.

He also faces traffic violations, deputies said.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint to the Ontario County 911 Center, where dispatch was advised that Jenkins was attempting to attend service, while yelling and screaming at churchgoers.

He was also driving erratically back-and-forth on 5&20.

Deputies say Jenkins was banned from entering the church.
