Wayne County dairy farmer generally happy with the state budget

A Wayne County dairy farmer says he’s generally happy with the recently-passed state budget from an agricultural perspective.

Kim Skellie is with El-Vi Farms in Newark, a five family dairy operation that milks about 2,000 cows and grows feed and crops on 3,300 acres. He tells us what he looks for in terms of ag funding each year in the budget.

Skellie says farmers want to be good environmental stewards, partly because it’s good business.
