Rochester Red Wings roll past Buffalo Bisons in series finale

The Rochester Red Wings rolled past the Buffalo Bisons, 8-1, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Frontier Field.

Rochester dropped the first two games of the six-game series, but won three of the last four games to earn a series split.

The Red Wings scored all eight of their runs in the first two innings.

Cullen Large opened the scoring for Buffalo in the first with a RBI single to center. In the bottom half of the inning, Luis Garcia tied the game with a RBI triple to right. One batter later, Garcia scored on a throwing error to put Rochester on top, 2-1.

Matt Lipka started the Red Wings six-run second with a bases-loaded walk. Later in the inning, Garcia drove in two more runs with a double to right to make it 5-1. Josh Palacios capped off the inning with a three-run shot to right, which was his second home run in as many days.
