The New York Mets shut out the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-0, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Citi Field.
David Peterson tossed 4.1 scoreless innings and allowed just three hits while striking out four and walking two.
The bullpen also did an excellent job. Trevor Williams, Chasen Shreve, Drew Smith and Edwin Díaz each recorded scoreless appearances.
New York scored three of their five runs in the sixth. Eduardo Escobar opened the scoring with a RBI double to right. Later in the inning, J.D. Davis grounded one through the left side for a RBI single to make it 2-0. James McCann followed that with a sacrifice fly to left.
In the seventh, Pete Alonso crushed his third home run of the season over the wall in left-center to extend the lead to 5-0.
Escobar had two of the Mets six hits.
The Mets will begin a four-game series with the San Francisco Giants on Monday night. First pitch at Citi Field is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
