Rochester Red Wings blown out by Buffalo Bisons, 10-1

The Rochester Red Wings fell to the Buffalo Bisons, 10-1, on Thursday night at Frontier Field.

Rochester jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game, but after that it was all Buffalo.

Chris Herrmann drove in the Red Wings only run with a RBI single to right in the second inning.

Vinny Capra tied the game in the third with a RBI single to center.

Buffalo scored six runs in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead. Capra picked up his second RBI of the night with a infield single. Gabriel Moreno followed that with a RBI single to right and Samad Taylor capped off the big inning with a grand slam to left-center.


The Bisons added three more runs in the sixth. Moreno dunked one into shallow center for a RBI single and Cullen Large hammered a two-run double to center.

Cade Cavalli got the start for Rochester and struggled as he allowed five runs on eight hits over four innings while striking out seven and walking one.

Jace Fry and Carson Teel also struggled in relief as Fry allowed two runs and Teel allowed three. Francisco Perez, Reed Garrett and Erasmo Ramirez each recorded scoreless appearances.

Luis Garcia collected three hits for the Red Wings.

Rochester and Buffalo will play two on Friday. Game 1 will start at 1:05 p.m. Game 2 will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first one.
