Police arrested a Geneva man following an incident at the Ontario County Jail.
According to a news release, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested Damon Steele, 24, of Geneva for criminal mischief and promoting prison contraband.
According to investigators, Steele damaged property in his cell and threatened to stab corrections staff in the neck. Following a search of Steele, he was found to have a hidden sharp piece of plastic.
Steele will appear at the Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
