Mets shut out Phillies, 2-0

The New York Mets snapped a two-game skid on Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Tylor Megill made his second start of the season and tossed 5.1 shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out five.

The bullpen was much better than the previous two games as Chasen Shreve (1.0 IP), Drew Smith (1.2 IP) and Edwin Díaz (1.0 IP) each recorded scoreless appearances.

Brandon Nimmo broke the scoreless tie in the fifth inning with a solo home run to right.

Francisco Lindor make it 2-o in the eighth with a RBI single to right.

Overall, New York had just three hits but still found a way to win thanks to a great pitching performance.

Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Mets on Wednesday afternoon as they try to take two of three from the Phillies. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
