Three local fishing contests happening this spring/summer

Below are event details, as reported by Finger Lakes Times:

The first-ever Erie Canal Kids Derby will be held on May 21 in Clyde. The event is open to children ages 7-15 with time slots from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weigh-ins will begin at 1 p.m. The derby will take place at Canalside at Lauraville Landing. Registration is required. The 24th annual Wayne County Youth Fishing Derby is set for June 17. The event is open to youth anglers ages 4-16.

Kids Fishing Day will return to Oak Island in Waterloo on June 25 following a two-year hiatus. Up to 200 children can participate in the 19th annual event. For more information, email event chairman Ed Mitchell at [email protected] or co-chairman Bill Goodman at [email protected]
