The Palace Theatre in Corning is currently playing films with closed captions for a more inclusive viewing experience.
The first closed-caption movie was “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” shown on Saturday, April 9 at 6:15 p.m., according to WENY.
Tiffany Ely, the Palace Theatre’s owner, works with a friend who teaches deaf and hard of hearing students to decide what movies to show with closed-captions. Ely had previously hosted a captioned film event before the COVID-19 pandemic, but now, the feature is here to stay.
