Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is conducting a volunteer recruitment drive for its existing programs, and for new ones it wants to add.
The organization has well over a hundred volunteers monitoring streams flowing into the lake for nutrients, surveying harmful algal blooms, removing invasive plant and animal species, monitoring the lake’s water level and more. Future plans include launching a fisheries program to help restore the fish population in the lake. Frank D’Orio is leading the recruitment drives and he says you don’t necessarily have to get wet to volunteer.
Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association also accepts donations.
