Walworth man arrested for welfare fraud

Police arrested a Walworth man following an investigation into fraud.

According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew Britt Jr., 71, of Walworth for grand larceny and welfare fraud.


It is alleged that Britt Jr., failed to report income he was receiving from an IRA account. As a result, he fraudulently received over $2000.00 in benefits that he was not entitled to.

Britt Jr., was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date.
