A 29-year-old man pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in Cayuga County Court this week.
According to a press release, Michael Clardy, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree attempted robbery and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
All of the charges are felonies.
According to prosecutors he admitted to using a loaded handgun when attempting to burglarize the Auburn Smoke Shop located on Franklin Street.
He was caught on surveillance footage inside the shop, according to prosecutors.
Now, Clardy faces upwards of seven years in prison.
