After two year COVID hiatus, Easter Egg hunt returns to Auburn’s Hoopes Park Saturday

Another sign of our return to normalcy following the COVID-19 pandemic.

After two years off, the annual Hoopes Park Easter Egg hunt returns to Auburn Saturday. Held for the past 70 years, the hunt was in danger of ending for good. The Owasco-Fleming Kiwanis Club, which had sponsored the event for years is no longer able to do so. Auburn Rotarian Ed Helinski says the club was happy to take over.

The hunt begins at 10 a.m. Get there early, because all five thousand plus eggs are expected to be scooped up within minutes. If you miss this one, there will also be an egg hunt at the city’s Emerson Park the following Saturday.
