Southern Tier counties are working to implement New York State’s new absentee ballot tracking tool ahead of June primaries.
New Yorkers voting by mail will soon be able to view the status of their ballot online.
“It’s like a tracking system on your mail,” said Steuben County Board of Elections Democrat Commissioner Colleen Hauryski, according to WENY. “It tells when the Election Offices received [the absentee ballot], when they were counted, and where your process is in your absentee mailing.”
The information on the voter’s ballot is verified against county records. New Yorkers can view their registration status ahead of the June primaries by using the NYS Board of Elections search tool.
